Museumnacht - Night of Museums Museums open from 19:00 until 2 am! Buying a ticket is entitled to entry into museums involved in the event. For every occasion Museum presents a special event, classical music concerts, performances, multimedia projections, dj set). International Documentary Film Festival (IDFA) The International Documentary Festival takes place in the Leidseplein: 11 days dedicated to this type of film, with screenings during the year on the day of documentaries from around the world and award of prizes of the category. High Times Cannabis Cup Since 1989, each year the third week of November, the magazine "High Times" to organize the Amsterdam Cannabis Cup: farmers and coffee shop set out the new varieties produced through crosses and different methods of cultivation, while those judged best receive prizes. Sinterklaas The Dutch were to spread the tradition of St. Nicholas (Santa Claus) in the world. Santa Claus is depicted as an old man, dressed in red, and his aides are Zwarte Piet and the white horse Schimmel. Oudejaarsavond - New Year As in all big cities, New Year sees the whole festival in Amsterdam: party organized everywhere and main squares (Leidseplein and Dam especially) crowded with people waiting for midnight and to carouse until late. 31 December |

Koninginnedag - The Feast of the Queen - Queen's Day The party began the evening before, with concerts, discos and clubs and organizing parties until late at night. Throughout the Netherlands as the royal color, orange and people poured into the streets and squares to celebrate, dancing, drinking. Day of Remembrance and Liberation Day The Day of Remembrance for the Fallen of the Second World War (4 May) is held a commemorative ceremony at Dam Square in the Liberation Day (May 5) will play concerts and free events to celebrate multicultural freedom.
